Crystal Moselle is a New York based director.
Her film and videos are inspired by unique personalities,
fashion and lifestyle. She likes to follow characters in their familiar element, sometimes telling them what to do, other
times letting them do what they do. Her first feature doc, "Excavating Taylor Mead," a portrait of the life of downtown artist
and Warhol Superstar Taylor Mead, was part of the 2006 Whitney Biennial and an official selection for the 2005
Tribeca Film Festival. Since then, she has worked on a variety of projects for bands such as The Virgins, Heartsrevolution
and Asdsska (a collaboration with Spike Jonze), as well as brands such as Levis, Fred Segal, Converse, and
Ralph Lauren. She has also created original documentary shorts for (VBS.TV) featuring her father, the famed "Bay Area's
Rap Daddy." Her series “Something Big Something Small” was just picked up for T Magazine (The New York Times
Style magazine) . Just recently she filmmed a documentary short for Fashion Designer Phillip Lim that will be screened
at the LACMA and the MOMA later this year.
